Pause for Thought: Brighten with Kindness
Being kind can have a great effect

Aims
To consider the importance and impact of being kind.
Preparation and materials
- You will need to have the means available to play the video below. It is 2.13 minutes long.
Assembly
Ask the children whether they can remember a time when someone was kind to them.
If possible, share a time from your own experience when someone being kind made a difference to you.
Ask the children whether they think that kindness can make a difference to people.
Show the following video.
Time for reflection
How can we show kindness today? How can we brighten someone else’s world?
Try to think of one simple thing that you could do to brighten someone’s day today.
You may wish to use the following prayer.
Prayer
Dear God,
Please teach us to care for others and to be kind,
No matter who the person is, or what they are like.
Thank you that you love and care for everyone.
Amen.
