Aims
To consider that it is OK to feel sad sometimes.
Preparation and materials
- You will need to have the means available to play the video below. It is 4.39 minutes long.
Assembly
Show the video ‘Lucy’s Blue Day’.
Time for reflection
Reassure the children that it is OK to feel sad – everyone does sometimes.
You may wish to use the following prayer.
Prayer
Dear God,
Thank you that you are always there for us to talk to at any time.
Thank you for family and friends who we can turn to when we are sad.
Please help us to realize that our feelings are part of who we are.
Help us to learn how to deal with the way we feel.
Please help us to be able to laugh and be full of joy.
Amen.
