Each month we will post assemblies for both the current and the following month, but usually assemblies are not date specific and you can use whichever seems most appropriate for your needs.

'Church' assemblies are targeted at Church schools and are more overtly Christian in content.

Aims to help children think about the significance of names. It could be part of a series about names (SEAL theme 5, ‘Good to be me’).

Keep on rowing

Takes the University Boat Race (Sunday 3 April 2010) as the start for reflecting on perseverance.

Looks at the wider relationships that we have, emphasizing how important they are for our well-being (SEAL theme 6, ‘Relationships’).

The World's Waking Up

Provides an opportunity for an Easter celebration. An Easter and Spring assembly for Key Stage 1 based around the song 'Easter time' in the KS1 songbook, Come and Praise Beginning. It includes simple and fun join-in actions.

Life's amazing!

Celebrates the miracle of life with reference to springtime and Easter themes. Uses a strong visual (and audio) aid to help children think about the wonders of life and growth using the example of a chicken developing from a single cell - an egg.

Encourages the children to think about responsibility and the importance of helping. Suitable for Mothering Sunday.

Considers the importance of forgiving people who have done wrong by us, for their sake as well as our own.

Considers the months of the year especially February and the moral behind the legend of St Cassian (29 February). Although 2010 is not a leap year, you might find the story of St Cassian relevant to everyday life in school.

Gives children a glimpse of what it is like to work in Malawi.
