The Farmington Institute for Christian Studies

The aim of the Farmington Institute is to support, encourage and improve Religious Education in schools. It is ecumenical in its commitment to the Christian faith and takes a particular interest in and is keen to develop good relationships with other world religions. The Institute gives Fellowships to teachers of Religious Education in schools, publishes discussion papers and arranges conferences, lectures and seminars.

Farmington Fellowships are tenable for one term at a selection of universities and colleges through the United Kingdom. The fellowships are for teachers of RE in secondary schools, primary school RE Coordinators or other primary school teachers involved in teaching RE, and teachers of RE to children with Special Educational Needs.. The fellowship covers the cost of a replacement teacher and college and university fees. Deadline for applications for the academic year 2003/2004 is 10 February 2003.

Fellowships are open to teachers of all faiths or none. Applicants should preferably have had at least three years experience in their present post.
